Emergency Ride Home (ERH)

Our vanpoolers are never on their own with the Emergency Ride Home Program.  The worry of what to do in case of emergency is one of the biggest barriers that commuters have when leaving their car at home and commuting by vanpool (or other alternative modes).  But never fear, we offer “commuter insurance” to our vanpoolers through the Emergency Ride Home Program.

What conditions qualify?
  • Personal or family illness, injury, or other emergency
  • Home or property is damaged by fire, burglary, or similar emergency
  • Unscheduled overtime (with supervisor's signature on the ERH voucher or reimbursement claim form)
What conditions do not qualify?
  • Ride to work
  • Personal errands or scheduled appointments
  • Scheduled overtime or business related travel
  • Working late without supervisor's approval
  • Missed vanpool
  • Inclement weather
Each Valley VanPool partner offers an Emergency Ride Home program to commuters who work in their service area. You will need to access this program first before utilizing the Valley VanPool ERH program.
